2014 was a year of great success for VisitMySmokies.com. For the first time in the site’s history, it saw nearly 2 million visitors in a single year.
The previous traffic record for the site was set in 2013 when VisitMySmokies.com hosted over 1 million unique visitors for the first time in the website’s history. Compared to the numbers set at the end of 2013, 2014 saw an increase in traffic of over 65 percent.
“We are pleased with the results from last year’s campaign,” said Justin Jones, CEO and founder of IMEG, the marketing agency of record for VisitMySmokies.com.
“Last year we were excited to see the site break 1 million visitors and this year we achieved 1,926,586 visitors to the site. We are more excited to launch a new site that will greatly improve the website’s user experience and drive even more clicks to our lodging partners. In 2014, we drove over 695,000 clicks to the lodging partners of VistMySmokies.com and, with our strategy for 2015, we expect it will increase even more.”
Success for VisitMySmokies.com does not look to be slowing down anytime soon. On Jan. 9, the site set a new record for traffic with the most traffic in a single day at over 26,000 unique visitors to the site.
VisitMySmokies.com’s Facebook page also saw an increase in fans compared to previous years. As of January 2015, the fan site has over 504,000 fans.
Site administrators with VisitMySmokies.com are looking forward to launching a complete redesign of the site in the upcoming months. The new design will include even more valuable information for its millions of visitors, as well as many new features that will allow for easier vacation planning.
Established in 2009, Visit My Smokies is the only site travelers need to plan a vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains. Owned by Sevier County, Tenn., the program focuses on promoting travel and tourism, in relation to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville area lodging, attractions, dining, and shopping.
